Brain Health & Mental Health Clinic in Delta, BC

Avicenna Centre for Brain Health is a private, multidisciplinary psychiatry and mental health clinic in North Delta, British Columbia. Our Delta clinic on the Scott Road (120th Street) corridor brings psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, and allied health professionals together under one roof, so patients across Delta, Surrey, and the wider Fraser Valley can access coordinated brain health care in one place, without travelling between separate offices.

As one of the established multidisciplinary mental health clinics in the region, our goal is to improve the quality of life of individuals and families living with conditions that affect the mind, through excellent clinical care, education, and team-based treatment.

Mental health services at our Delta clinic

Our Delta team offers assessment and treatment across a full range of brain health needs. Explore each service below.

How psychiatry coverage works in British Columbia

Visits to our psychiatrists are insured physician services, so the psychiatric consultation itself is covered by the Medical Services Plan (MSP) when you have valid BC coverage and a referral. Psychology and counselling provided by our allied health team are private-pay services that MSP does not cover, though many extended health and employer benefit plans reimburse a portion, and some services may be covered through ICBC or WorkSafeBC claims. Our coordinators will explain what is covered before you book.

Do you need a referral?

In British Columbia, a psychiatric consultation requires a referral from your family doctor or nurse practitioner. Once we receive your referral, our Delta team will contact you to confirm details and guide you through the next steps. Counselling and psychology do not require a physician referral.

Is this clinic right for you?

Avicenna is a referral-based clinic for mild to moderate mental health concerns. We are not an urgent or crisis service. If you or someone you care about is in crisis, please call 911, call or text the 988 Suicide Crisis Helpline, or call the BC Mental Health Support Line at 310-6789. For ongoing care, your family doctor or nurse practitioner remains responsible for your day-to-day mental health management after your initial assessment.
